CEC Rule 26-712: No point along unusable wall space shall be further than 1.8 m (6 ft) from a receptacle (12 ft / 3.6 m maximum spacing).

Any usable wall space 900 mm (3 ft) or wider requires a receptacle.
Hallways longer than 4.5 m (15 ft) require at least one outlet.
Bedroom and living room receptacle circuits must be AFCI protected at the breaker.
