CEC Section 30 Lighting Rules
- CEC Rule 30-104 requires lighting branch circuits to be rated no more than 15A or 20A.
- Replacing old 60W halogen or incandescent bulbs with 9W LED pods reduces circuit energy draw by 85%, freeing up capacity on older lighting runs.
- LED dimmers require explicit LED/CFL compatibility (ELV or TRIAC rated) to prevent flickering and buzz.
